ECOLIBRIUMGAMES
EcoLibrium Games

Exploring systems through gameplay.

Immersive games that make complex systems tangible. Players don't just learn how systems work — they step inside them, influence them, and experience the consequences.

The Experience

Enter. Interact. Understand.

Enter

Step into a living system and take on a role within it.

Interact

Compete. Cooperate. Find resources. Make decisions. Adapt as the system changes around you.

Understand

The game ends. The learning continues. Players explore the patterns, feedback loops and unintended consequences their actions helped create.

Learning you can feel.

Experience the system.

Food webs aren't diagrams.
Competition isn't a definition.
Carrying capacity isn't just a number.

Biodiversity, scarcity, competition, feedback, adaptation and resilience become things players experience for themselves.

EcoLibrium makes complex systems physical, social and visible — allowing players to experience how individual actions create patterns, how changes ripple through a system, and why outcomes are often difficult to predict.

Learning to see systems. Complex systems are difficult to understand from the outside. EcoLibrium lets learners experience them from within — seeing how relationships, feedback loops, resource constraints and individual decisions combine to produce larger patterns. The goal isn't simply to learn about an ecosystem. It's to learn how to think in systems.

EcoLibrium transforms fields, forests, campuses and outdoor spaces into playable ecosystems.

Our first living system is coming to life.

EcoLibrium is developing a new approach to experiential systems learning — combining physical gameplay, simple technology, real-time interactions and facilitated reflection.

Our first application brings an ecosystem to life. Players become species, compete and cooperate for resources, encounter changing conditions and influence the system through their actions.

What happens during the game becomes part of the learning: interactions create data, data reveals patterns, and those patterns help players explore how complex systems actually behave.

We're looking for educators, schools, outdoor centres and other organisations interested in helping us test and shape what comes next.
